Camila has a degree in Business Commerce and a Masters in Sustainable Development. Her love for creating living spaces that fuse her creativity with her love for the wilderness started with doing a diploma in Interior Design and organically doing projects over the years while still doing work in the conservation and sustainable development space. She then discovered Biophilic Design which is what she has focused her energy extensively on over the last while, Learning about it and applying it to her own home as well as all her projects. Although her introduction to the built environment started with interior design. She believes our living environments should be designed and understood as a holistic complex system that includes the interior and exterior of a building as well as the landscape and the larger environment it is part of. She LOVES plants and has learnt many lessons of life with her hands in the soil and watching patiently has her garden changes with the seasons. With a growing interest in landscape design she loves partnering with local botanists and landscapers to create wild gardens with as much of a variety of locally indigenous plants to support a thriving eco-system. She also offers biophilic design consultancy to architects, urban designers, interior designers, landscapers, city planners or anyone interested in applying it to their project.
We have travelled Southern Africa finding artisans to work with that have the right ethos and quality work. Many of them live on the fringe of conservation areas and our work gives them opportunities to share their craftmanship with the world.
"Gardens today have nothing to do with the feelings the wild places give us. They are not glowing with life force and atmosphere" Mary Reynolds
We strive to change this in our wild garden designs.
Let's create places to dream, places to heal, places that stir up curiosity in the young and old. Let's design to support other life and enhance our own well-being. "Man is nature, nature man, one and the same."
